I love Valentine’s Day quotes! Most are applicable even when it’s not February 14. At the same time, I’ll be honest; I’m not one for all the festivities surrounding Valentine’s Day, and I probably never will be. Even though I understand that it is a day set aside to show love to the people in your life, I’m a big advocate for doing that every single day.
Thankfully, my husband feels the same way. Besides, I don’t think we have ever given each other presents on Valentine’s Day! We went out for dinner to celebrate the day in the early stages of our courtship, but it is not a tradition that stuck around. To tell the truth, we don’t have patience or time for long waits at restaurants, and honestly, one awful experience probably ruined it for us. So, we are okay with not jumping through hoops to express our love to each other.
With this in mind, we strive to show our love for each other, many times a day, every day of every year, till the day one of us is no more. At the present time, I think we are doing okay!
The 5 Love Languages
A few years ago, a friend introduced me to the Love Languages. There are 5 Love Languages, and each one describes how each of us gives or receives love.
- Quality Time: Spending meaningful time together
- Words Of Affirmation: Saying supportive, encouraging and complimenting things
- Receiving Gifts: Giving thoughtful gifts that demonstrate that you are thinking of the other person
- Acts Of Service: Doing things that are useful and helpful for the other person
- Physical Touch: Physical contact such as holding hands, giving kisses and hugs, and appropriate touches
Quality Time is my love language. Indeed, I’m not surprised because I am in my happy place doing things with my husband, even if it’s running errands.

Adventure Awaits Us at Home
February 2, 2022 at 5:37 pmBeautiful quotes. I also have never been into Valentine’s Day. However, my husband insists we at least acknowledge it. But like you, we do not exchange gifts, nor have we ever. Last year was the exception for making it a big deal. I decorated (for the first time in my life). But that was due still spending more time at home. Thanks for sharing!
