20 Insanely Awesome, Insightful Quotes For The Introverted Mom.

It is human nature to want to feel like we belong. I’ve struggled with that for a large part of my life. Realizing that I was an introverted mom was life-changing for me. You would think that something like that, a characteristic that reflects who you are as a person, would be evident to you and the people around you, but this isn’t always the case. Wanting to become self-aware, digging deep into the trenches of your entire being and existence is sometimes required to find answers to questions you have always asked yourself. Questions like, “Why do I LOVE sitting in the car by myself instead of hanging out with the other moms during my kid’s soccer game?” OR “Why do people hate being alone when I LOVE it so much?”

I did the work, and when it became evident to me that I did belong somewhere, that I wasn’t a weirdo, it changed the way I looked at myself, and it changed the way I treated myself. I AM an introverted mom. Self-awareness is incredible, empowering, and liberating. Now, I embrace the label I have given myself. I wear it with pride, and I use it to seek out others like me, people who get me, people who understand me, and people from whom I can gather words of wisdom.

Here is a compilation of some of the best quotes out there for the introverted mom.

  1. “If you drop your child off for a lesson, and feel lucky to sit in the car alone, you might be an introverted mother.” – Jamie C. Martin

3. “I’m very picky with whom I give my energy to. I prefer to reserve my time, intensity, and spirit exclusively to those who reflect sincerity.” – Dau Voire

4. “I am rarely bored alone; I am often bored in groups and crowds.” – Laurie Helgoe

6. “People empty me. I have to get away to refill.” – C. Bukowski

8. “Stay true to your own nature. If you like to do things in a slow and steady way, don’t let others make you feel as if you have to race. If you enjoy depth, don’t force yourself to seek breadth.” – Susan Cain

9. “Our culture made a virtue of living only as extroverts. We discouraged the inner journey, the quest for a center. So we lost our center and have to find it again.” – Anais Nin

10. “Blessed are those who do not fear solitude, who are not afraid of their own company, who are not always desperately looking for something to do, something to amuse themselves with, something to judge.” – Paulo Coelho

11. “Deep inside, she knew who she was, and that person was smart and kind and often even funny, but somehow her personality always got lost somewhere between her heart and her mouth, and she found herself saying the wrong thing or, more often, nothing at all.” – Julia Quinn

12. “I am lonely, yet not everybody will do. I don’t know why some people fill the gaps, but other people emphasize my loneliness.” – Anais Nin

13. “Alone had always felt like an actual place to me, as if it weren’t a state of being, but rather a room where I could retreat to be who I really was.” – Cheryl Strayed

Oh my goodness, these are so true! I especially loved #5. Being an introvert is a gift, and I don’t think the world always understands that.

There is a LOT that the world doesn’t understand about us. I hope I’m doing a small part to change that.

I have known am an introvert since I was a child. Becoming a writer came naturally as I loved spending more time alone with my pen and note.
All this quotes are awesome and this one that says: ‘Introverts listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation.’ Is very true.

I can relate to some of the quotes. I am an extroverted introvert lol. I will be my best self with people I know but will find the corner in the room when I am around strangers. You will never find me working the room but I like making friends. Lolol, I know it sounds weird lolol but that’s how I am.

Sidebar: I really love the topics you choose to write on. Just saying.

I’m definitely an introverted mom. Thank you for this. I think I did say I’m extroverted with those closest to me but introverted with everyone else. For a long time I thought I had to be out there but how wonderful to be able to just be me and be okay with that.
