Hi, I’m Vicky, and I’m an INTROVERTED MOM! I am incredibly honored that you have taken time out of your busy day to visit MY BLOG! Gosh, that never gets old! My blog! It’s all mine! Last year, amid all the pandemic chaos, I decided to start a blog. Having never read a single blog before, I had no idea where to begin. I just knew that it was something I NEEDED to do.
Blogging has led me to discover so much about myself. At first, I didn’t quite comprehend the NEED to blog, but I get it now. Through this process, I have discovered a lot about who I am, what I’m good at, and exactly where I fit into the scheme of things. My identity is now that of an introverted mom, and it is truly liberating. With my blog, I have the freedom to express myself exactly how I want to, and I have grown brave enough to touch on some difficult issues my family faces.
I get it; taking on something like this can seem a bit overwhelming, but I assure you that the most challenging part is deciding to start. As an introvert, I thought that an endeavor like this was entirely out of my wheelhouse, but I was wrong. It was the perfect adventure to jump into, and I am so thrilled I took that leap of faith.
So to you introverted moms out there, I say JOIN ME. Join me on this epic ride, this incredible adventure into the world of blogging. You may not fully understand why this is for you, but I am about to shed some light on exactly why it IS. Girl, START YOUR BLOG today!
8 reasons an introverted mom should start a blog
- Find your tribe
When I published my first article about introverted moms a few months ago, I had no idea the impact it would have. I knew there were introverts out there, but through my blog post, we found one another and are constantly forging connections.
As a fellow introvert, I want this for you too. I want you to find your tribe and make meaningful connections. Find people who just get you. The desire to belong is a core need for most humans, whether we like to admit it or not, but it is vital for an introverted mom. Motherhood is hard; motherhood as an introvert is even more difficult.
You need your people, people who can offer advice because of similar experiences, and people who can tell you that you’re not weird; you’re just an introvert.
2. A money-making blog can be an introvert’s dream job
As you can imagine, any job that offers little or no social interaction is very attractive to an introvert. A money-making blog is just about as perfect as it can get for the introverted mom. After all, a job should be all about making money while doing something you love!
Ways to make money with a blog
- affiliate marketing
- ads displayed on your blog
- digital products eg. e-books and printables
- sponsored blog posts: working with specific brands and their products
Here are some essential courses I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Why? I did quite a few of these courses myself, and I absolutely loved them. I stumbled upon the FREE Start A Blogging Business 5 Day Course totally by accident while scrolling through Facebook one day. Yes, you read correctly; it’s FREE!
I knew nothing about blogging, and I had never heard of this particular course. I certainly didn’t know how to make money with a blog. Despite my reservations, I signed up for the course. Fate was definitely on my side as I felt like I hit the jackpot! I fell in love with the course, but I also grew very fond of the course creators. They are so down-to-earth and likable, and they know exactly what they’re doing. It shows that they’ve been at this for a while. Their desire to effectively help their students comes through in all of their courses.
I have subsequently signed up for a few of their paid courses, and I know I have spent my money wisely. The best part is that these courses are incredibly affordable. It is an investment in myself and my blog that hasn’t broken the bank, thank goodness!!
The process of setting up my blog and actually getting started was scary, but with these courses there to help me along, I did it all by myself! And trust me, if I can do it, you can too! The course creators also have Facebook groups that you can join and ask questions and get advice from experts and fellow bloggers alike.
Recommended courses
Here are a few of the paid courses that I subsequently signed up for. I think they are invaluable tools to anyone embarking on a blogging journey. These are also incredible tools for someone who already has an existing blog but needs to up their game. There is a lot to learn, but blogging can be enjoyable and rewarding with a bit of guidance and help from the right source.
And when you really want to dive deeper and perfect your craft:
If you would like to have a very specific niche as an introverted mom, here are a few course options to help you along:
Start A Travel Blog (FREE)
Start A Pet Blog (FREE)
Start A Food Blog (FREE)
Start A Real Estate Blog (FREE)
Start A Sports Blog (FREE)
I genuinely believe that these are incredible course options to get you started on your blogging journey!!
Moving on with our 8 reasons
3. Find alone time
Introverts not only crave alone time, but they also NEED it to recharge their minds, bodies, and souls. I can’t think of a better way to spend alone time than typing away at my computer in my quiet office space.
4. Express yourself clearly
You sit down at your desk and get ready to write, and you think, ahh, this is heavenly! It’s just you, your computer (or pen and paper), and your thoughts. You’re about to get your groove on in the best possible way. It’s no secret that introverts prefer to write than talk.
Writing gives us the chance to think, plan and organize our thoughts so that the final product appears well thought out and well-executed. A blog gives us introverts the liberty to be honest, critical, and transparent more than a conversation ever could because, in all honesty, a conversation like that can be an introvert’s worst nightmare.
5. Promote understanding of introverts
Introverts are often poorly understood. A blog is a perfect platform to educate others on exactly who we are and why we sometimes behave in ways that are difficult to understand. You see, the world has been programmed to tune in to all things extroverted.
Introverts may make people uncomfortable. Your blog will be your personal space to set the record straight. It will be your space to promote your uniqueness and that of all of your newfound introvert mama friends!
6. Gain confidence
Some, not all, introverts lack confidence. A lot of it stems from always being overshadowed by the extroverts that surround us in social settings. It just kind of happens. And by the time we realize what has happened, it is just way too late to regroup. You see, the extrovert swooped in and stole the show, as they usually do. At that point, it doesn’t matter what we, as introverts have to offer because our extroverted counterparts have drawn the crowd to them.
Blogging changes all of that for the introvert! Yes! Your blog becomes your platform and gives you your day in the sun. You’re the main attraction, and the reader is drawn to you. They are paying attention to what you have to say. They value your opinions, and they want to know what you think and feel. As an introvert, you will feed off this attention, and you will undoubtedly grow in confidence.
7. Become an authority on a specific topic
Most people have something that they are really good at or are very knowledgeable about. As an introvert out in the world, it may be challenging to share your expertise with others because sharing requires too much face-to-face contact. Not only can these situations be uncomfortable for the introvert, but they can be incredibly exhausting as well.
A blog levels the playing field for the introvert. Hence as an introverted mom, you can teach and share whatever you’re passionate about to your heart’s content. Depending on how much you have to share, you dictate the frequency with which you create articles. People will recognize your contribution in time, and you will eventually become an authority figure in your particular niche.
8. Do something that brings joy and is rewarding
One of the most rewarding things that I have ever done was start my blog. I am so proud of all the things that I have learned and what I have done. This baby is all mine, and I am so proud of it. It brings me joy, and it gives me a platform to talk about some difficult mental health issues like depression and anxiety disorders.
I never thought of myself as a creative person, but I have realized that I actually am. Writing has become a true love of mine. Sharing my experiences can help others, even if not in a public setting. Those are scary sometimes. My confidence is growing, and I hope that that confidence will extend into the social setting one day.
In conclusion
Self-doubt is the killer of dreams and is your worst enemy. Keep it locked away and discover your true calling. Unleash your full potential. We introverts are some of the most gifted, talented, and creative beings on this planet, and we have a lot to offer. With this in mind, try something new; it might be right for you! I hope you take advantage of the resources that I provided. You can do it!!

October 8, 2021 at 11:00 pmI second everything Emily said! I am so busy taking care of my kids and my other side business most of the time, but when I can just sit down and write uninterrupted, I totally go into my “zone” and come out feeling refreshed and recharged! 🙂

September 29, 2021 at 2:41 amNice to know your story of starting a blog. I too started my blog last year, but I can’t say I am an introvert , I talk a lot. And that I started writing when I was not able to go out and meet people during lockdown. I feel my blog is the little corner in this world where I can write my heart out.

November 3, 2021 at 1:20 pmI love this! As an introverted accountant writing a personal finance blog, I can so relate! But we introverts still have an important message to share, so I am glad you are encouraging us to get out and do this scary thing!

November 3, 2021 at 5:39 pmFellow introvert blogger here. As follower of Christ, I wanted to be obedient to the Great Commission but felt extremely uncomfortable with constant face-to-face interaction. Then my blog was born and I couldn’t be more happy. I can share my important message, work on my passion, and help people along the way.

November 4, 2021 at 4:05 amYes, one thing I have noticed in my life is that reading and writing have been great ways to express myself or imagine and dream again. As an introvert, I have found joy in writing and it is my alone time to put out my thoughts. You shared good points to encourage an introvert to put weight on their expression.

January 15, 2022 at 11:17 pmIntrovert mom here – blogging has become a unique outlet that I use to let out my thoughts on motherhood and being a stay at home mom / work from home mom. I’ve learn ALOT about myself and I’ve become a lot more confident and comfortable in my own skin.
