110 Insanely Beautiful Mother’s Day Quotes

mother holding her newborn baby

I would be nothing without my mom—zip, zilch, nada. She was the best. She was a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a humble child of God. Indeed, to be her daughter was a gift. The world was a better place because she was in it, and we are better people because we had her in our lives. My mom left this earth six years ago, and my world has never been quite the same. Mother’s Day can be quite an emotional day, but my mom deserves to be celebrated. Therefore, I will be sharing some Mother’s Day quotes to celebrate my mom and the moms and mother figures in your lives.

My mom was a force to be reckoned with

My mom hailed from humble beginnings, but she didn’t let that define who she was or limit what she could become. She aspired to be the best, and, dare I say, she certainly achieved that in all aspects of her life.

She touched the lives of the children she taught at school and is certainly remembered by many of them today. Indeed, her contribution to education is undeniable.

Also, my mom was a wonderful, loving companion to my father, and the life they built together was a glowing example of what a marriage could and should be.

My mom, with my dad by her side, led our family with a quiet strength. Undoubtedly, they were equals and shared the responsibility of raising children and creating a loving home environment. From time to time, I look back on my childhood and smile. It was indeed my happy place, and it always will be.

I never really grasped what motherhood was until I became a mother myself. No doubt, when it comes to motherhood, my mom was a rockstar! She made it look so easy. Somehow, she knew me before I even knew myself. She saw my potential, even when I didn’t. My mom was always cheering me on to do better, to be better and she guided me in all walks of life, even when I didn’t think I needed guidance.

Indeed, the love that I have for her knows no limits, and the memories we created together are etched in my heart forever. Now, even though she is gone, I am sad but not heartbroken. I was lucky to have her, I was lucky to learn from her and I am the mother that I am today because of her.

In conclusion

So there we have it! You made it through all 110 Mother’s Day quotes! And surely, if you’re a mom, you were probably shaking your head in agreement with A LOT of them!

A mother’s job isn’t easy, and it’s not for the faint of heart. But it is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding things in life. There were times when my kids were younger that I wanted to pull my hair out and run for the hills, but finding ways to push through, even when you feel you don’t have it in you, is just one talent that moms possess.

And now that I’m an empty nester, I get to sit back and see the fruits of my labor. And it’s a beautiful thing. I have an amazing husband by my side, and I have learned how to parent from the best (my parents). I didn’t get it right many times, but motherhood is like being in school till you take your last breath; you are constantly learning. And even though my kids are adults, the job is never done. However, I wouldn’t want it any other way!

So to you, my dear readers, I say thank you. Thank you for stopping by my blog and spending some time with me and my thoughts. I hope you will come back soon! And, of course, whenever you visit, feel free to leave a comment!

And to my mom in heaven, you have indeed touched my heart and life by just being you. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could hear your voice just one more time. You left some big shoes to fill, but all I can do is try to fill them. Past Mother’s Days have been really difficult. In fact, two years ago, I wrote a blog post entitled Mother’s Day Is Hard After Losing Your Mom.

Until now, my emotions would get the better of me, and I would be in tears… a lot. But somehow, this year, I feel the need to celebrate you more. Time has a way of making the hurt better. And even though I miss you like crazy, joy is washing over me more and more as the years go by.

I was extremely lucky to have you as my mom, and as long as I live, I will never take that blessing for granted. Thank you for being the best mom a girl could ask for and for leading by example. Your passion for life, God, your family, and your job was evident in everything you said and did.

I LOVE YOU, MOM.

I miss you every single day.
