Gift shopping for teenage girls can be challenging! Choosing gifts for a teen girl who struggles with Generalized Anxiety and Depression is an even more daunting task. Since I have a teen girl who struggles with these particular issues, I did what any practical mama would do, and I went straight to the source. That is to say; I told my daughter to come up with a Christmas gift wishlist. Smart right? I thought so! Furthermore, I am delighted to pass these awesome gift ideas for teen girls along to you, my wonderful readers, because moms help other moms (and dads, grandparents, and caregivers) out!

But before I get to the topic at hand, I wanted to share what my daughter said to me that day with you. I had expressed to her that I was having a tough time coming up with gift ideas for her, and I shared some of the ideas I had come up with. Before I could finish, she cut me off and started talking. Without a doubt, what she said to me resonated deeply in my soul. She is so wise! Undoubtedly, I think she gets it from her mom!

Wisdom from my teen

In fact, my daughter told me that I was approaching the whole thing incorrectly. She expressed that even though she deals with these tough issues daily, she doesn’t want to receive presents that would remind her of that. In all honesty, she wants to feel like a normal kid who gets normal gifts. Instead, I was trying to find her things related to depression and anxiety. Indeed, I should have just tried to find cool gifts! The best thing that I could do for her was make her feel as normal as possible. By and large, the kid made sure I knew that in no uncertain terms!

The force is strong with this one! Unquestionably, she is beautiful, brave, strong, intelligent, wise beyond her years, and quite adorable! I love this kid, and I would do anything for her. I hope she knows that she is my hero. Despite life’s challenges, she carries herself with grace and poise. For this reason, I am very proud to have raised such an incredible human.

So without further ado, let’s move on to the task at hand! Here are the gift ideas my beautiful girl came up with!

These are great gift ideas! I don’t have a teen girl (yet…) but I do have a 7.5 year old girl who was diagnosed with generalized anxiety. I’ll have to save this gift list for the future!
